Tallies, not checkboxes

Real briefs say “6–8 detail shots”, not “one detail shot”. So shots in BasePlate count up rather than tick off. Tap a shot to add one to the tally; the group header shows where you are, like 3/8.

A shot with a target of one behaves like a checkbox, so simple items still feel simple.

Pinning shots to beats

Each shot can pin to a beat on the timeline. Pinned shots appear inside that beat on the Timeline tab, so when the ceremony starts you see the ceremony shots without switching tabs — and you can tick them from there.

The pin follows the beat. If you shift the day, the shot moves with it.

Groups

Shots are organised into groups — The Mass, Reception Formalities, Sunset & Dessert. Groups can be marked as a priority moment so the ones that actually matter to the couple stand out from the ones that are just coverage.

Reference frames

Add example images to any shot and flag each one good or avoid. This is the fastest way to settle a look before you’re standing in it, and it’s especially useful when you’re second shooting to someone else’s style.

Images are copied into the app and stay on your device.

Progress

The header on the Shots tab shows the day’s total — 0 of 58 shots — so you can see at a glance how much of the brief is still outstanding.
