Second shooting a wedding means working from someone else’s plan. The call sheet is a PDF, the PDF is in an email, the email is three days old, and the ceremony just moved twenty minutes because the hair and makeup ran long.
BasePlate is that call sheet, made live. It knows what time it is: the timeline scrolls itself to the beat underway, the beats assigned to you are raised out of the noise, and Shift Times moves the rest of the day in one gesture when the day slips — which it does.
The rest is the stuff you actually reach for between shots. A tallying shot list pinned to the timeline. Reference frames marked good or avoid. Camera settings and a white balance log. A gear bag split into what the lead is bringing and what’s on you. Sunset and golden hour computed offline from the venue’s coordinates, because the reception venue does not have signal.
Everything is stored as plain local files on the phone — no account, no sync, no migration to go wrong the night before a shoot.
It has been carried through two real weddings so far, once as second shooter and once as lead. It is not on the App Store yet.

Your beats, up front
Set your role — 1st shooter, 2nd shooter or everyone — and your own assignments rise to hero cards with a YOU badge. The rest stays as context.
Shift Times
Weddings run late. Push one beat by ten minutes and everything after it moves with it, alerts included.
Shot lists that tally
Briefs say "6–8 shots", not "one shot". Shots count up instead of ticking off, and each one pins to the beat it belongs to.
Reference frames
Attach examples to any shot, flagged good or avoid, so the look is settled before you're standing in it.
Camera and gear
Codec, frame rate and picture profile, a white-balance log, and a bag split into what the lead provides and what you pack.
Golden hour, offline
Sunset and golden hour computed from the venue's coordinates using the NOAA solar algorithm. No signal required at the barn.
On your wrist
A watch companion with a crown-scrollable day and haptics, plus a Live Activity and Dynamic Island on the phone.
