BasePlate Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the BasePlate iOS and watchOS app, published by H3LX Labs LLC. Installing or using the app means you accept them.

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use BasePlate on devices you own or control, consistent with the Apple Media Services Terms and the standard Apple End User Licence Agreement.

Your content

Timelines, shot lists, reference images, camera settings and contacts you enter are yours. They are stored on your device, we have no access to them, and we claim no ownership.

Because your data lives only on your device, you are responsible for backing it up. Deleting the app deletes its data, and we cannot recover it.

What BasePlate is not

BasePlate is a planning and reference tool. It is not a booking system, a contract, or a guarantee of anything.

In particular: sunset and golden-hour times are calculated estimates derived from the coordinates you supply, and alerts are local notifications subject to your device’s notification settings, battery state and Focus modes. Do not rely on either as your only safeguard on a job that matters. Verify critical timings independently.

Other people’s information

Call sheets contain other people’s names and numbers. You are responsible for handling that information lawfully and appropriately, including any consent required in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer or decompile the app, redistribute it, or use it unlawfully.

No warranty

BasePlate is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, H3LX Labs LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including missed shots, missed moments, or any loss arising from a timing estimate or a notification that did not arrive. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
